The first step of our CleanSpace Encapsulation System.
After the old, dirty insulation is removed and properly disposed of, the first step is to install our drainage matting. This matting allows water to move through the channels towards a drainage pipe and sump pump.
Our drainage matting prevents water buildup underneath the materials.
Our drainage matting system is intended for installation underneath our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System and is appropriate for crawl space floor surfaces of all types- including dirt and concrete floors.
CleanSpace is one of our most popular products.
CleanSpace is a top of the line vapor barrier for crawl spaces that is installed over top of the drainage matting. The CleanSpace vapor barrier has many benefits: it reduces moisture and humidity levels, helps seal out cold drafts in the winter, and comes with a 25 year warranty!
CleanSpace is super durable!
CleanSpace is a super-durable, 20-mil seven-layer reinforced polyethylene material designed to prevent moisture, outside air and pests from getting into your crawl space.
Rim joist insulation
To fully air seal the crawl space, the rim joists are sprayed with approximately 2" of closed cell spray foam.
Crawl Space vents are sealed up.
You might think that ventilating your crawl space will help with airflow and control temperatures under your house but that is not the case. If air vented into the crawl space is damp and wet, the floors above it will feel damp and wet as well due to stack effect. Not only that but open vents can allow water and pests to enter, resulting in possible mold and feces polluting your crawl space air.
The walls are sealed and insulated with SilverGlo.
SilverGlo is designed with high-efficiency graphite-impregnated insulation with a built-in radiant heat barrier surface. When installed on your crawl space walls, it provides an unbroken sheet of R-11 insulation for your home.
Fiberglass floor insulation & moisture is a bad combination!
When fiberglass insulation is just a little damp, it loses a whole lot of its insulation value. Here old fiberglass insulation is literally falling down and not providing thermal benefit.
