Photo Album: Winchester VA Crawl Space Encapsulation

This Winchester VA home had a crawl space that was literally falling apart.  The old insulation had fallen from the ceiling of the crawl space making the floors in the home above susceptible to temperature changes depending on what the weather outside was like. The rest of the crawl space was unconditioned with bare dirt and rock floors in some areas and no insulation on the walls or in the rim joists.  The outdoor air was able to freely move in and out of the crawl space causing added moisture and humidity along with allergens to move into the air in the living space above.  Installation of SilverGlo insulation wall paneling with ZypFoam used to seal up the cracks and spaces where air can move around along with CleanSpace flooring to fully condition the crawl space allowing for significantly improved control of the space and reduces the number of outdoor factors that can otherwise cause discomfort in the home.
