Photo Album: Chantilly VA Crawl Space Insulation

This Chantilly VA home had an unconditioned crawl space that was experiencing moisture, musty smells and cold floors for the rooms above. The homeowners called us to come out and see if we could help improve it. Our Home Performance Sales Team Manager Stephen went out to visit with the homeowners and try to find a solution. Stephen determined that the dirt floors in the crawl space needed to be leveled out and then covered with Clean Space to contain and reduce the moisture. The walls of the crawl space would need to be covered with Silver Glo insulation panels and the open vents of the space would need to be sealed up to prevent uncontrolled air, moisture and allergens from coming into the home. With the wall panel insulation in place, there would no longer be a need for the old insulation hanging from the ceiling of the crawl space. This would all help to create a controlled space with no outside air or temperatures impacting the crawl space or living spaces above. Reduced energy costs, improved air quality and a more comfortable home are all in the homeowners future now.
