Photo Album: Vienna VA Addition and Crawl Space Creation

These Vienna VA home owners wanted to build an addition to their home in the space where a driveway carport had been. They would need to add flooring and cover the existing driveway, raising the new floor to the level of the existing door. Our Home Performance Sales Pro Jon was able to design a project to meet their needs. In order to properly create the new addition area, they would need to create a treated crawl space below. The space would be the height of the floor frame and not useable but keeping it dry and sealed off from external air would help to make sure that the new space above would be comfortable and energy efficient. Floor insulation was installed and then the whole area was covered in Clean Space material to create a moisture barrier. Spray Foam was then used in the outer walls of the new floor frame to keep out any external air.

This space would need to be turned into a low crawl space in order to raise the floor level to mee the height of the existing indoor areas.

Project Planning

Photos and written plans were transferred to our production team after the project design was completed.

Floor Insulation

A base layer of flooring insulation was laid to keep the naturally old outdoor floors from impacting the temperatures inside of the addition being made above them.

Moisture Barrier

Clean Space material was used to cover the insulation and create a moisture barrier. This would keep any moisture from below out of the new crawl space area.
