Photo Album: Alexandria VA Crawl Space Waterproofing and Sump Pump

This crawl space in Alexandria VA was experiencing unwanted water, poor air quality and a sump pump that had standing water inside of it. After being referred by a another home service company, our Home Performance Sales Pro Jason went out for a visit and was able to design a project to not only control the water but also improve the air quality in the whole home as well as improving energy efficiency. The project included closing off the open air vents of the crawl space, putting down a moisture barrier and insulation on the floors, installing Silver Glo insulation panels on the walls, installing a new sump pump and removing the existing insulation falling from the floor above. A clean and more controlled space was the result. Useable for storage and dry, the space would also be less likely to accommodate pests.

This sump pump had standing water in it and was open topped. Replacing it with a stronger closed top sump pump.

Jackhammer use helped open the footer of the crawl space floor. Water Guard was installed sub floor to collect and deliver unwanted water to the sump pump.
