Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Springfield VA Crawl Space Improvement

This Springfield VA home had a vented and uncontrolled crawl space. The walls and foundation were made of bare cinder block and the floor was dirt with a thin layer of paper covering it. The space was susceptible to moisture build up and potential growth of mold. The insulation which had long ago been installed to the top side of the crawl space was falling loose in several spaces and had multiple gaps where air could move freely from outside, into the crawl space and then up towards the floors and the living spaces above. Our Sales Pro Stephen visited the home to perform a whole house inspection and was able to identify multiple solutions from the attic to the crawl space that would help improve the comfort, air quality and energy efficiency of the home. SilverGlo panel insulation for the walls, TerraBlock floor matting to create a way for air to move freely and keep the floors dry along with CleanSpace covering it all up to the bottom portion of the walls to control any water or moisture that did come in. This crawl space is now sealed, insulated and able to be used for storage if the client wanted to. The old insulation was removed and now the entire space is more visually appealing along with helping to create better air quality and improved comfort for the living space above.

The old insulation has been removed from the top of the crawl space, the layer of paper covering the floor has been removed and was replaced with TerraBlock to cover the dirt floors but still allow for air to pass across the dirt.

Brown TerraBlock matting has been laid down and is being covered with the White CleanSpace covering. Part of the walls have been paneled with SilverGlo insulation panels.
