Crawl Space Before
An open air vent in the wall was allowing external air and moisture into the crawl space. The dirt floors allowed moisture to settle and make the space humid.
Crawl Space Before
The cinder block foundation walls were uninsulated, allowing the cold temperatures outside to be transferred into the crawl space. This cold would make the floors above cold as well.
Pipes Exposed to Cold
The HVAC ducts and plumbing pipes were all passing through space that was the same temperature as outside. this could lead to freezing water pipes.
Bad Crawl Space Insulation
The old insulation intended to insulate the ceiling of the crawl space and keep the floors above warm was not work due to having fallen loose. This would later be removed and insulation would be installed on the walls rather than the ceiling.
Crawl Space Floor Covering
Drainage mating laid over the dirt floor to contain moisture and then Terra Block on top of that would help to insulate the floors and keep the air above cleaner and less humid.
Work In Progress
With Terra Block covering the floors and the old insulation removed from the crawl space ceiling, the area is now ready to be covered with Clean Space material to seal it all up.
Silver Glo Insulation Panels and Clean Space
Insulation panels, air sealed with Zyp Foam now cover the walls, protecting the crawl space from external air and temperatures. Clean Space covers the flooring and the base of the insulated walls.
Full Crawl Space Encapsulation
Insulation panels, air sealed with Zyp Foam now cover the walls, protecting the crawl space from external air and temperatures. Clean Space covers the flooring and the base of the insulated walls. This space in now able to be used for storage if needed.
Crawl Space Insulation
Silver Glo panel insulation covers the walls with Spray Foam having been used to seal up the rim joists at the top. This will keep external air outside of the crawl space.
