Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Marshall Virginia Crawl Space Improvement

This crawl space in Marshall Virginia needed some serious work to help make it cleaner, drier and provide better quality air moving into the home and living spaces above. Our Home Performance Sales Pro Eric was able to design a project with the right services and products to do just that. Our production team began by clearing out the debris and old insulation in the crawl space. After preparing the floors they installed a vapor barrier to allow for air flow below the materials that would later be installed to seal off and insulate the floors. Foam insulation boards were laid across the floor and then covered with Clean Space. Silver Glo insulation panels we applied to the crawl space and foundation walls, sealing off the once open air vents and creating a more controlled and conditioned space.

Open Crawl Space Vent

This open air vent shows signs of collected dirt and water from outside. This also allows insects and other small creatures to infiltrate a crawl space.

This dryer vent tube was sending humid air into the crawl space and due to the incline of the tube, allowing build up of lint inside.

Crawl Space Insulation

Foam insulation was laid on top of the vapor barrier that covers the dirt floor. Silver Glo insulation panels were attached to the walls and air sealed with Zyp Foam.

insulating the space from the walls and floor in, there is no longer a need for insulation on the ceiling. Spray foam was used to insulate and air seal the rim joists of the home.

Clean Space material is used to cover the floors and seal off the vapor barrier and insulation below. This will keep the space dry and clean for years to come.
