This homeowner's crawl space was not in great condition. The vapor barrier on the dirt floor of the crawl was damaged and ineffective and the insulation was basically nonexistent. We conditioned the crawl space with our CleanSpace encapsulation system. Now the crawl space is "conditioned" - meaning that the air and humidity conditions in the crawl space are consistent with that of the rest of the home. This prevents uncomfortable or humid conditions from occurring.
This basement job required our waterproofing team to jackhammer a trench around the perimeter of the basement, install our WaterGuard drainage system, and refill the trench with concrete overtop of the WaterGuard. We also installed an UltraSump for this basement, too.
This home in West McLean, VA was having issues with cold floors in the winter and musty odors in the summer. We removed old, damaged batt insulation and replaced it with SilverGlo foam board insulation. We also installed 20 mil. CleanSpace vapor barrier on the floors. This crawl space is now clean, conditioned, and helps make this home more comfortable and efficient.
Great visuals of a wet basement, transformed with the right waterproofing solution.
This home in Annandale Virginia had a nasty crawl space. Musty smells, rotted wood, dirty plastic covering the floors and excessive humidity were just some of the problems we were able to address by encapsulating the crawl space. Sealing up the vents which allowed external air, allergens and temperatures to impact the air inside the home was the first step. Insulating the walls of the space and then putting down a moisture barrier to cover everything else followed. This home will now have better air quality, improved comfort, lower energy bills and the potential for any of the pipes freezing has been reduced almost totally.
