This Stafford, VA home was suffering from an unpleasant odor permeating throughout the house and rooms above the crawlspace being too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. This was having a serious negative impact on the comfort level of the home. Our service professional Brent went out to the property to take a look and find the best possible solution to the homeowner’s issues. After completing the inspection Brent explained to the homeowners that the primary cause of their discomfort was a lack of waterproofing in the crawlspace that was allowing mold growth and water damage to occur. He determined that the best course of action to end their discomfort would be to install the CleanSpace insulation and waterproofing system to prevent any chance of further mold growth or water damage and keep the home more comfortable. After the homeowners agreed to Brent's solution our service crews went out to get to work on the home. The crews started by removing the old ineffective insulation. Then they installed special TerraBlock floor insulation that is protected from water damage and does not support the growth of mold, mildew, or rot. After that, they installed SilverGlo rigid foam insulation on the walls to keep the crawlspace and the rooms above comfortable year-round. Finally, the crew installed the CleanSpace covering on the floor to create a vapor-tight barrier that maximizes leak protection and minimizes the opportunity for mold growth and water damage.
This Arlington, VA homeowner called us due to a musty smell in their home. Our sales professional Pedro visited with the homeowner to provide a no cost inspection of the home to find out where the smell was coming from. After completing the inspection Pedro was able to show the homeowners that there was a need for waterproofing within the home's crawlspace and a repair of some minor water damage. Mold growth had lead to the smell in the home above the crawl space. Pedro determined that the best solution would be to replace what little waterproofing was currently in the crawlspace with a new high-end CleanSpace waterproofing and insulation system. Once the project was approved our service crews went out to get to work on the home. We removed the old insulation and the thin plastic tarp that had previously served as the crawlspace's only form of water protection. We then installed TerraBlock floor insulation that would act as a puncture-proof barrier that was both waterproof and discouraged growth from mold, mildew, and rot. After that, they Installed CleanSpace covering as a secondary layer of waterproofing and to provide a flat platform to improve the crawlspace's ability to act as storage. Finally, the crews applied spray foam insulation to the rim joists and installed the CleanSpace vapor barrier as the final layer of insulation and water protection to keep the home comfortable and mold-free year-round. The crawl space is now sealed, conditioned and can be used by the homeowner if needed for storage.

They contacted 3 Pros Basement Systems for a free home inspection and to get an idea of what options were available to help.
