Crawl space encapsulation, or sealing, is the treatment that building scientists recommend to turn a damp, dirty, moldy crawl space into a clean, dry space where mold can’t grow. If your crawl space looks anything like this before photo, give us a call at 3 Pros Basement Systems and turn your crawl space into an asset rather than a liability.
Your home is a system, and every part of that system plays a role that affects the rest of the structure. If your crawl space begins to rot, grow mold, or experience structural problems, this will extend to every part of your home. At 3 Pros Basement Systems, we specialize in crawl space problems of all types. Here we installed our CleanSpace System. CleanSpace, a 20-mil vapor barrier that is poly-string reinforced and contains an antimicrobial called UltraFresh. It is laid on the crawl space floor and fastened to the walls six inches above the outside grade (to direct any moisture entering through the cinderblock down to the earth) and wrapped around piers. All seams are overlapped and sealed to isolate the crawl space off from the earth's moisture.
In addition to reconditioning the inside of crawl spaces, we also focus on making sure that the access to them is suitable and functional. This crawl space had a piece of plywood covering the very raw entrance point. Our production crew built a frame in installed a new door that will stay closed and preserve the insulation and air sealing inside.
This crawl space had a rocky dirt floor and needed insulation to keep the surrounding rooms conditioned. We applied CleanSpace liner wall-to-wall and SilverGlo insulation to achieve conditioning.
