A rocky, dirt floor crawl was causing humid conditions in the rooms above due to uncontrolled moisture and hot summer weather. To remedy this, the 3 Pros team installed drainage matting and then a wall to wall vapor barrier (CleanSpace) to encapsulate the crawl space.
After having their room above insulated, these Aldie VA homeowners wanted to make sure that the floors were properly treated. They decided to have the under side of the floors insulated with Spray Foam. Accessing the crawl space below, we were able to apply Spray Foam and help to better seal up the space making it less susceptible to outdoor weather and temperatures.
This before/after picture series shows an "Everlast" crawl space access door that we install during a crawl space encapsulation. It's made of polypropylene plastic so its durable and will not rot away. It's installed with weatherstriping and hand tightened wing nuts keep it in place and air tight. Easy to remove and light weight too.
This crawl space was filthy! Insulation rotting off, debris everywhere, and the air was damp and mildewy. We installed our CleanSpace system to waterproof it, and filled any vented holes that were letting outside air or critters into the space.
This crawl space in Catlett, VA had a rocky, bumpy, sloping dirt floor and suffered from excessive moisture that was causing structural damage and mold growth. We gave the crawl space a full makeover with our CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation system and installed a SmartPipe drainage system.
